A global team of over 200 experts are continually improving these templates for free access to all BIM communities around the word.

In alignment with ISO 19650, the templates team didn’t want the world to keep reinventing the wheel when it comes to BEPs and other ISO 19650 resources. Having a central resource for experts to curate and all teams around the world to access for free helps advance the use of BIM more rapidly – but importantly – in a standardised way.

The BIM toolkit has been created with the intention of supporting different countries with the creation of their technical BIM framework. The toolkit is aligned with the ISO 19650 standards series, to assist with BIM adoption and open global opportunities. The overview document explains the various companents of the toolkit, how to use each of the documents, and provides advice on how to best start your journey depending on BIM maturity.

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) of Hong Kong was set up with the main function of forging consensus on long-term strategic issues, conveying the industry’s needs and aspirations to Government, as well as providing a communication channel for Government to solicit advice on all construction-related matters. The CIC developed itself as a Centre of Excellence for BIM, formulating strategies for market transformation and promoting cross-discipline collaboration and wider adoption of BIM. The CIC provides support to the industry in five aspects, promotion on BIM adoption, training, standards, guidelines and specifications, BIM personnel certification and BIM courses accreditation, and BIM-related researches using the CIC Research Fund.

The CIC Construction Digitalisation Dashboard is to include the most up-to-date and important information for stakeholders to keep abreast of the progress and status of construction digitalisation in Hong Kong. This is an online dashboard showing lots of statistics and information about the current adoption of BIM in Hong Kong. All of the data shown has been extracted from the CIC “Survey on Adoption of Digitalisation in Construction Projects”. In the survey, a project with adoption of digitalisation is defined as“ a project which had adopted or was planned to adopt at least one of the advanced construction-related digital tools”.

The objective of this CIC BIM EIR Template is to provide BIM requirements for contractual deliverables to facilitate prompt adoption of BIM by the construction industry in Hong Kong. The target users are primarily small and medium enterprises (SME) Appointing Parties / Employers / Clients / Owners (hereafter referred to as ‘Appointing Parties’) or their agents in the private sector who plan to use BIM for their projects. The document will help them to prepare the project specific EIR.

The purpose of this document is to provide users with a standard Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) Template based on ISO 19650-1, which is required for service agreements or contracts following CIC BIM Standards and methodology depending on the type, scope and other Appointing Parties’ requirements for those projects. Users are advised to go through the Exchange Information Requirements Template and customise them for their specific project application. This Exchange Information Requirements Template should be used in conjunction with the CIC ‘BIM Standards – General’ which is available on CIC BIM portal website and also contained separately in this information collection.

This free platform is aimed at all project owners, regardless of their structure, their level of BIM maturity  or the type of their operations. It was produced by industry partners on behalf of the BIM Plan 2022 and the Housing, Urban Planning and Landscape Department (DHUP).

Through the support offered on ORELIE, project owners can integrate all of the theoretical notions related to BIM specifications. Support is structured on the basis of the framework of a standard BIM Specification, which has previously been defined as part of action 1 of the BIM Plan 2022: Making the BIM order reliable.

Thanks to videos, documents and interactive presentations, each user can therefore complete their BIM specifications, part by part, writing and updating their document in complete autonomy.

The platform aims to complete BIM repositories and pre-existing guides by offering an interactive tool, promoting user engagement and offering a space for reflection.

The Ministry of Development & technology for Poland has appointed a BIM working group and steering committee. The group and committee developed BIM templates to support the implementation of digital ways of working in public projects in residential construction. These are universal document templates to be used in public and private construction projects.

This set of 12 BIM templates were created by involving all stakeholders (designers, engineers, general contractors, ministries, etc.), which had the opportunity to submit comments and proposals for solutions to be used in these documents.

The BIM set includes:

  • BIM Lexicon
  • BIM Requirements Template (EIR) Overview
  • BIM Requirements Template (EIR)
  • BIM Plan (BEP) template overview
  • BIM Plan Template (BEP)
  • Table of production and supply of models (Template, overview, example)
  • BIM annex to the contract.

These BIM templates should be used as a proposal for the layout of documents and their minimum content, which will allow for the proper implementation of BIM to meet all the project and organisational requirements. These templates can be adapted to suit a project.
