The EIT is the Engineering Institute of Thailand, an organisation created under the Kings patronage. The EIT was established in 1943 and has a vision to be the professional and academic center in engineering as well as to offer Engineering guidance to society. The EIT aims to:
– Foster the unity among members.
– Support engineering education and research.
– Collaborate with other engineering institutions, both locally and internationally.
– Support the engineering profession and technological developments.
– Develop standard engineering practices, design codes, and reference of the benefits of the terms.

The BIM Lab by EIT is a group focussed on developing and showcasing the progress of BIM in Thailand. This Facebook page hosts all of the groups content from updates and news through to meetings and events. The group hosts a lot of webinars, recordings and video content on this page around the technical use of BIM. BIM4TURKEY is a platform belonging to “Building Information Modeling and Management Association”. It is the center of transformation for the construction industry. BIM4TURKEY aims to facilitate the integration of BIM easier and smoother to the building industry, Higher Education and public companies. BIM4TURKEY provides the ground for communication and cooperation for all the parties involved in a design and construction project. BIM committees help for capacity building and awareness about BIM in Turkey with regular reports on building standards and accelerate the integration of BIM into the sector. They aim to support construction companies to improve their competitiveness in the international arena. They organize events and workshops to build awareness towards these goals and develop critical mass in BIM and form a community of practice and academics in BIM, sharing knowledge and technology via the BIM University.

Implementation of BIM has proven to deliver major performance improvements in efficiency, design quality, constructability, waste reduction, environmental performance, and capital & operational cost management of built environment projects. Yet BIM implementation in low BIM maturity markets, such as the UAE, is limited to technology applications which fail to deliver the full potential of BIM benefits to client originations. The purpose of this paper is to investigate BIM implementation from a clientÂ’s perspective and to present a case study that exhibits a level 2 BIM implementation process in a traditional procurement environment. The study has used a case study approach combined with a literature review. A critical appraisal of relevant literature is presented to highlight key issues hindering BIM implementation for client organizations, especially in developing BIM markets, such as the UAE. The research is collected using an action research approach within a case study, including project document audit, participation in project collaboration meetings and extensive communication with the project stakeholders. The case study is presented in a practice-oriented research format describing the project details, procurement approach, BIM development & management process and benefits achieved for the project client. The paper presents a structured approach to strategically introduce BIM within a low BIM maturity market, creating partnering relationships, empower the supply chain partners and achieve significant BIM benefits with minimum disruption to existing work practices. The paper highlights that although BIM requires a step-change in the work practices of the construction industry, yet it is possible to successfully implement BIM with traditional procurement settings, which may be a critical feature in a certain market or a client requirement. The paper concludes that there is a need for case study based, practice-oriented research work within the domain of BIM implementation. Construction clients in low maturity BIM markets are concerned about the perceived benefits of BIM and its practical implementation within existing business practices, which is addressed in this paper. Overall, the findings of this study are useful for construction industry clients and academia in redefining the existing work practices to incorporate BIM-enabled processes and applications.

Association BIM Serbia is a non-governmental and non-profit association established in April 2017 in Belgrade with the aim of achieving goals and activities in the field of promotion of the application and standardization of information technologies and sciences in construction. The goal of the Association is organized networking, connecting, socialization, education, and facilitating the sharing of experience among academic experts, engineers, enthusiasts and other interested individuals in the field of BIM/VDC technology, as well as the work on the standardization of BIM/VDC technology along with their application, cooperation with public organizations, institutions and associations engaged in the same types of activities, both in the country and abroad.

BIMTECH is a group which help the construction sector in Romania to become efficient, sustainable, and operate at the level of international standards. The group do this through work in three areas, Research, Development and Implementation. BIMTECH creates a pole of competence that includes specialists and information that support the construction sector by actively supporting projects based on the BIM concept. They analyze and recommend technologies that comply with international and local standards, in accordance with the design requirements, ensuring the way to optimize the design, execution, operation times, and the tools used. They offer expertise in BIM pilot projects, which are the starting point for observing and implementing functional workflows in the construction sector through a consolidated approach to the stages of the building life cycle.

The BIMTECH group is a multidisciplinary team of specialists consisting of academics, architects, engineers, lawyers and entrepreneurs. The members of the Association want to associate in order to research, develop and implement applicable technologies within a platform for the design, management, execution and operation of the built environment. The BIM Acceleration Committee (BAC) is the driving force behind BIMinNZ. They are a nationwide alliance of industry and government, established in Feb 2014 to coordinate efforts to increase the use of BIM in New Zealand. The BAC is a nationwide alliance of industry and government. It is sponsored by the Productivity Partnership and BRANZ. The BAC meets every six weeks and members are drawn from across the building and construction industry and give their expertise and time freely. The purpose of the group is accelerating the use of BIM in New Zealand because it is key to achieving significant increase in productivity, accelerating the use of BIM in the construction process, and for that reason has become a priority. It is vital that industry, clients and government begin to take advantage of its many benefits – especially during this time of high construction demand. New Zealanders need more affordable, quality buildings and infrastructure, now and in the future.

The website offers a number of tools and resources to increase the use of BIM across New Zealand. BIMinNZ is driven by the BAC.
